“Promoting Competitiveness of Rwandan Agriculture.” Was the theme of this year agriculture show from 18th to the 26 June 2019 in Kigali ,RYAF with its different projects participated in the agrishow that was exhibiting a wide range of innovations and best practices in the agriculture sector such as irrigation and mechanization ,information and communication techno in agriculture ,agro-processing and modern livestock.
The annual event that is recognize in East and Central Africa as a major agricultural fair presents opportunities to see what is happening in Agriculture share experiences and innovations market products and services network ,connect as well as make business deals
RYAF stands was visited by the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources Dr Gerardine Mukeshimana and other dignitaries such as some members of Rwanda cabinet and ambassadors representative in Rwanda .

Resources, Dr Gerardine Mukeshimana, called upon farmers to take sustainable measures to
increase competitiveness in global markets while ensuring better quality
“To keep up the momentum, we should put much efforts in modernizing our farming activities to ensure food security and surplus for the market,” said Minister Mukeshimana.
She called on farmers taking the huge advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and be able to sell their agricultural produce across the continent.
In order to exploit the African markets, farmers need to effectively manage their produce such as timely harvesting, post-harvest management and quality control and to use secure storage facilities such as cold storage for perishables to reduce losses, said Mukeshimana.
Mrs Janviere INGABIRE, (RYAF Member) was awarded as the best exhibitor (Youth) of the Rwanda National Agricultural Show 2019.
INGABIRE, is a Rwandan young lady entrepreneur who is moving fast to success using the naturally neglected nettle plant (Igisura).
The 14th National Agriculture Show of this year attracted about 360 exhibitors both locals and internationals including young agripreneurs from across the country.
Rwanda Agriculture Show is a yearly event to exhibit innovations and best practices in the agriculture sector. The Agricultural show offers opportunities for learning new skills and linking different stakeholders in agriculture such as farmers, cooperatives, banks, insurance companies.
