The Netherlands welcomes benchmarking mission from Rwanda

A benchmarking mission composed of 15 decision-makers and Public Sector (MINAGRI, RAB, MINEDUC), Private Agribusiness Sector and the Education & Training Sector (University of Rwanda and the Rwanda Polytechnic) visited the Netherlands from 3 to 9 February 2020.

The purpose of this benchmarking mission was related to the Government of Rwanda’s program of transforming the extension service framework in which private sector, government and knowledge institutions work together to strengthen the agricultural sector which in the Netherlands is known as Triple Helix.

This model of innovation refers to a set of interactions between academia, industry and governments, to foster economic and social development. Interactions between universities, industries and governments have given rise to new intermediary institutions, such as technology transfer offices and science parks.
