RYAF appreciates Orora Wihaze's support

RYAF is grateful for the partnership with Orara Wihaze which is keeping the youth momentum in increasing availability, access and consumption of animal source food in Small Livestock.

Last year in March 2022, Orora Wihaze in partnership with Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum conducted mapping of youth in small livestock (pig, fish, poultry, goal and Sheep). 325 youth (232 Male & 93 Female) in OW value chains were identified from 8 districts under OW Interventions.

From 26-29/07/2022, trainings were organized to them, in which 24 youth with potential businesses were selected for one week Boot camp in Rwamagana Dereva Hotel from 26 to 30/9/2022. After training in boot camp, all 24 participants did business pitching in which only 5 with potential businesses were selected for Grants and undergone in process of due diligence.

On 30/06/2023, 5 grant winners signed contract with Orora Wihaze after about 6 months of due diligence. The winners were awarded grants equivalent to 7-10 million Rwandan francs along with 6 months technical and business advisory services.
