How AFSForum2024 is Shaping the Future of ZEAN LTD in Agricultural Value Addition
Agriculture continues to be one of the cornerstones of economic growth, particularly regarding value addition. The CEO of ZEAN LTD, NIMUKUZE Angelique, works in the districts of Gakenke and Nyabihu. Her business produces banana chips and maize flour (Kawunga), providing value to agricultural products.
Angelique just got the chance to go to the Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 From September 2-6, 2024, at the Kigali Convention Center, a pivotal gathering that brought together key stakeholders in agriculture including investors, and entrepreneurs in the agricultural industry, from across the continent. NIMUKUZE Angelique described it as an eye-opening experience and the significant benefit the AFSForum2024 brought to her business.
One of the biggest takeaways for Angelique was the chance to meet and network with fellow agripreneurs from different parts of Africa. This networking led to valuable discussions on various aspects of agribusiness. “I interacted with entrepreneurs involved in the circular food system, and they shared insights on how I could expand my business,” NIMUKUZE Angelique said.
In addition to the networking opportunities, Angelique NIMUKUZE gained knowledge in crucial areas such as technology. She was particularly excited to learn about the latest technological advancements in food processing and packaging, which could help increase efficiency at ZEAN LTD.
Moreover, Angelique NIMUKUZE was thrilled to meet potential buyers from different countries who expressed interest in her products. “Some of the participants loved our products, and they even offered to take them to their home countries. This is a big opportunity for us to explore new markets,” she said.
NIMUKUZE Angelique’s journey at ZEAN LTD exemplifies how adding value to agricultural products can significantly contribute to economic growth. Her participation in AFSForum2024 has enriched her knowledge and opened doors to new opportunities. As ZEAN LTD continues to grow, there is no doubt that it will have a long-lasting effect on Rwanda's agricultural sector.
