RYAF is proud to participate in the EAC Regional Joint Agricultural Sector Review in Dar es Salaam

Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum (RYAF) was proud to be in the EAC Regional Joint Agricultural Sector Review, held in Dar es Salaam from March 27 to 28, 2025, representing RYAF, Chairperson Sakina Usengimana and Program Manaager Olivier Muvandimwe attended the EAC Regional Joint Agricultural Sector Review, where stakeholders assessed progress on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) compacts, National Agriculture Investment Plans (NAIPs), and Regional Agriculture Investment Plans (RAIPs) discussions aimed to enhance accountability and drive sustainable

Agri-food systems transformation.  

The main objective of the regional JSR meeting was to assess the extent of implementation of agriculture and food security policy, strategies, and programs in line with
The regional Agriculture Investment Plan (RAIP). The Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP), is an Agenda 2063 continental initiative that aims to help African countries eliminate hunger and reduce poverty by raising economic growth through agriculture-led development.

Through CAADP, African governments agreed to allocate at least 10% of national budgets to agriculture and rural development, and to achieve agricultural growth rates of at least 6% per annum. Underlying these investment commitments are targets to reduce poverty and malnutrition, increase productivity and farm incomes, and enhance the sustainability of agricultural production and the use of natural resources.

CAADP also supports countries in enhancing their resilience to climate variability through the development of disaster preparedness policies and strategies, early warning response systems, and social safety nets.

Collaborating with youth-led organizations, farmers' federations, and sector leaders to address key challenges, encourage peer-to-peer learning, and cultivate impactful collaborations, RYAF is dedicated to promoting youth inclusion in agricultural policies.
